Georgia Association of Occupational Health Nurses

Happy OHN Week!!!!

Posted about 7 years ago by Sequoyah Brown

Each April, OHN Week recognizes and celebrates the approximately 19,000 members of the occupational and environmental health nursing profession. Occupational and environmental health nurses promote the health and wellbeing of workers and their families, developing programs that enable healthy, engaged and productive employees.

Across Georgia, occupational and environmental health nurses are dedicated to advancing the health, safety and productivity of our workforces by providing education, coaching and health counseling, health promotion and wellness activities, regulatory compliance and management of injuries and illnesses.  This is a week to celebrate YOU as members of the occupational and environmental health nursing profession.  It is an opportunity to tell the story of our profession and the value we provide as champions for a safe and healthy culture in our workplace.

This year’s OHN week also commemorates the 75th anniversary of AAOHN, the largest professional association for occupational and environmental health nursing.

On behalf of myself as GAOHN President and your Board of Directors, I want to take a moment to thank you for all that you do to keep your employees safe and healthy. Remember you DO make a difference every day in your workplace as well as GAOHN. Be a Starfish Thrower!!!!
