Peachtree Orthopedics Offers Telemedicine Services During Pandemic

See information from Peachtree Othopedics below:
We are doing Telehealth appointments but the feature to invite case management is not working properly at this which we are working on it. Also, each clinical team will do the following due to the recent issues with Telehealth:
Please note that Peachtree Orthopedics is taking Telehealth appointment. If we have a WC patient scheduled for a Telemedicine Appointment (with adjuster approval) AND there is a known NCM on the file our staff can complete a telephone conference with the NCM (if requested) Here is the communication you can expect with your NCM’s about the patient’s telemed visit.
- Clinical Staff – will reach out to the NCM and confirm if they would like a telephone conference with the provider following the patient’s telemed visit.
- Staff will document on the appointment line for the Provider to call the NCM with their name/phone number after the Telemed Visit.
- Provider will call NCM to review patient’s Telemed Appointment.
- Provider will include in the encounter documentation who they spoke with and what elements were discussed.
In addition to Telehealth appointments we are also asking the following questions and taking patients temperatures prior to treatment:
- Do you have a fever?
- Do you have symptoms of respiratory illness (shortness of breath, cough, etc)?
- Have you been exposed to someone with the Coronavirus (COVID-19)?
- Have you traveled ANYWHERE outside of the US and especially to an area impacted by a coronavirus (COVID-19) in the past 3 weeks?
Again, an answer of Yes to any of the questions, should immediately prompt you to follow the treatment protocol based on the CDC guidelines . Please make sure that you are clear with the patient what the guidelines are at that moment and give the patient further instructions on how to continue evaluation of possible COVID-19 exposure via the CDC guidelines. We look forward to being a resource for you in the future. Furthermore, if you have any customers who are seeing a new occupational medicine clinic we have also included information about that service and our two locations for your review.
In regards to our staff, all employees must take their temperature before clocking in so that we can avoid any potential exposures to ourselves and our patients. Hopefully this answers any concerns or questions you may have.
Please contact me if you have any questions.
Thank you,
Wendy Yuen
