Meet Debbie Dicken, a respected OHN and humanitarian! Learn more about her in her own words below!

2018 is my 40th anniversary of being a nurse. I became interested in occupational health when I was in middle school due to my father becoming ill at work. The onsite OHN at his company provided him with excellent care and even rode in the ambulance to the hospital with him. While in the community health rotation of my BSN program, I had the opportunity of working with that OHN. She continues to be a friend and mentor to this day. OHN has given me many opportunities. I have worked in distribution centers, chemical production plants, clinics and utility companies. Currently, I work at Georgia Power Company as the team leader for the occupational health nurses. I am married to Jack. We have four children. Three, soon to be four, in-law children. Three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.  My “hobby” is promoting the sewing of washable feminine hygiene kits and traveling to Molo, Kenya to distribute the kits to girls so they can remain in school during their menstrual period.  Also, Jack and I love being outdoors exploring parks, walking trails, riding our motorcycle on back roads and spending time with family and friends.
